Well we did it again for UFC 110 down under in Sydney, Australia not the best performance that we had going 100% but we did nail 7 out of our 9 picks for the fights. Between the weigh ins and checking out the fear in the eyes of the fighters during the stare down we know how to successfully cap a UFC card.
Below is a brief blip of our picks on who to take and the final result.
James Te Huna vs Igor Pokrajac
Take Huna, Huna is coming off a few good wins and he has a very big home field advantage over Pokrajac, and Pokrajac lost his last and first fight in the UFC to an old school fighter.
Final Result: James Te Huna wins Igor Pokrajac via TKO (strikes) at 3:26 of Round 1.
CB Dollaway vs Goran Reljic
Take CB for this one, this is a good fighter who had bad luck with the past couple fights and he will show up ready for this fight down under.
Final Result: C.B. Dollaway beats Goran Reljic via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after 3 Rounds.
Chris Lytle vs Brian Foster
Take Chris Lytle, Brians not a big punch and punching is what Lights Out Lytle is all about, and Brians a little younger so ya never know but if you have to parlay the fights take Lytle.
Final Result:Chris Lytle def. Brian Foster via Submission (kneebar) at 1:41 of Round 1.
Stephan Bonner vs Krzysztof Soszynski
Bonner will take this one, they both are coming off big loss but Bonners was to a 46yr old Hammer, he will come out ready to knock the lights out of his opponent.
Final Result: Krzysztof Soszynski def. Stephan Bonnar via TKO (cut) at 1:04 of Round 3. *this victory came from a cut otherwise Bonnar was favored to win although irrelevant to the actual result it is noted.
Mirko Cro Cop vs Ben Rothwell
My pick is Cro Cop, He hasn't looked good in the UFC since day one, BUT its Cro Cop this guy is a monster, sadly;y he hasn't let the UFC fans no that, and Ben is coming off a very bad loss, and i think he will do well in the UFC, but if the guy from Pride shows up, its all over for BIG Ben.
Final Result: Mirko CroCop beats Anthony Perosh via TKO doctor stopped due to cut after Round 2.
Keith Jardine vs Ryan Bader
Take Jardine, he is a very good fighter who has had the bad luck of holding a double edge sword, one on side in his past few fights he has fought fighters who are all in the Top 10 of the Light Heavy weights, and on the other side, he has fought Top 10 fighters, its great as long as your up for the challenge, Bader is a good fighter, but Jardine is a couple notches above him, and with that being said I wouldn't be surprised if Bader did land a big hand and drop him.
Final Results: Ryan Bader def. Keith Jardine via KO (punch) at 2:10 of Round 3.
Joe Stevenson vs George Sotiropoulos
Take Sotiropoulos, I like UFC guys a little more then over seas fighters usually, not forever but in their first couple fights, for some reason the transition from one place to another has shown to be a problem from most, and George did win his first and last UFC fight but it wasn't anyone who should have been a problem for this fighter but expect him to go the distance and win.
Final Result:George Sotiropoulos def. Joe Stevenson via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after 3 Rounds.
Wanderlei Silva vs Michael Bisping
My pick is The Count. I am a big AXE murderer fan always have been always will be, BUT he is a little older, not real old but old enough that fighting for the past 15 yrs has taken a toll, not to mention I just think Bisping is a better fighter now, Silva is on his way down where as Bisping is a next generation fighter, we will be talking about Bisping in 10yrs. I just kinda hope Silva doesn't get knocked out, and I'm not saying this in any negative way, but I don"t want him to be like Ali.
Final Result: Wanderlei Silva def. Michael Bisping via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after 3 Rounds.
Minotauro Nogueira vs Cain Velasquez
My pick is Nogueira, don't really have to have a reason with this one but, I like Cain and the fact that he is still undefeated is something to mention and something that can help him in the fight, but he is fighting one of the Greatest fighters of all time, and I don't think Cain has what it takes. Nogerias arsenal is to vast and to refined to be taken by a young wrestler with a good ground game.
Final Result: Cain Velasquez def. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via KO (punches) at 2:20 of Round 1.
Elvis Sinosic vs Chris Haseman
Take Elvis. Chris did beat him in a fight a long time ago but times have changed and Elvis has talked about a rematch now that the UFC is global.
The Elvis fight was scraped due to an injury to Elvis' shoulder.
