Thiago Alves used to be the UFC Bettors favorite before a rough patch derailed his Title aspirations and cost those wagering a lot of money. Alves is tenacious and daring on his feet but is surprisingly adept on the ground. He shouldn’t have to worry about hitting the mat in this fight though, his opponent loves to strike and Alves has some of the best take down defense on the planet (except against GSP of course).

Alves will look to use his diverse arsenal, keep his distance for a while where he can soften his opponent up with kicks and jabs and eventually move into the clinch where he can inflict damage with his vicious knees. Alves will hit Howard hard, from all different angles with a variety of body parts.

John Howard was on a UFC Betting skyrocket ride before he ran into an uber-tough Jake Ellenberger in his last fight. Howard was considered a Title Contender but now has a lot of work to do in order to once again ascend to Contender status.

Both of these fighters bring a strong stand up game to the Octagon and both men have recently lost to Chael Sonnen.

Marquart is extremely well rounded – he has superb technical striking and also has a Black Belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Okami is a powerful puncher who has adapted his judo background to a successful run in MMA. Marquart probably holds the edge in this fight anywhere it goes but something tells me that his “join ‘em if you can’t beat ‘em” move to train with Sonnen will pay off in this fight. The Huntington Beach Bad Tito Ortiz is back from yet another injury to take on Matt “The Hammer” Hamill. Diego Sanchez faces Paulo Thiago and Brendan Schaub battles Gabriel Gonzaga to open the PPV card.

Cain Velasquez has a chance to be the first Mexican heavyweight champion in fighting history. Velasquez has heavy hands and a motor that doesn’t stop. Lesnar took a pounding from Shane Carwin in his last title defense but his opponent gassed out. He quickly tapped out Carwin in the second. Lesnar won’t have that luxury against Cain. It looks like a fantastic matchup on paper but Lesnar will enter the ring about 30lbs heavier and he’s faced and beat tougher opponents in his career than Velasquez. Take Lesnar to finish Cain in the third.

Jake Shields is on a 14-fight winning streak, of course he hasn’t earned the respect he would have had he been fighting in the UFC. During his streak, he’s had six decision wins, six submissions and two TKOs. Kampmann was climbing the welterweight ladder before being KO’d by Paul Daily. Kampmann is an excellent striker and while he won’t beat Shields, he’ll force Shields into an exciting fight.

Matt Hamill -155

The last time we saw Tito Ortiz he was being ousted as the coach of the Ultimate Fighter because of a back injury. The back is healthier and Ortiz will test it against Hamill. Hamill has just two losses on his record, one a controversial loss to Michael Bisping, and one loss to former champion Rich Franklin. He got away with a win after Jon Jones threw an illegal elbow and was DQ’d; Hamill was on the verge of tapping out. Hamill is a tough wrestler and his striking has improved immensely since he first joined the UFC. Ortiz is too old and Hamill will earn a nice victory here.

Diego Sanchez +100
Paulo Thiago -130

Paulo Thiago is a tough BJJ fighter, but he’s coming off a rough loss to Martin Kampmann. He’ll face Diego Sanchez. Sanchez has lost his last two fights, first to BJ Penn at lightweight and then to John Hathaway. The problem with Sanchez is his head hasn’t been in the game lately and while he is a very skilled fighter, I doubt he can put it together against Thiago.

This is a heck of a fight to get the PPV rolling. Gonzaga’s last fight was a loss to heavyweight title contender Junior Dos Santos. He’s fought some big names at the top of the division, but he’s lost to them all. Brendan Schaub was in the finale of the Ultimate Fighter Heavyweight but lost to Roy Nelson. With a hell of a strike Frank Mir had one memorable fight in UFC 119.

Frank Mir knocked out the 2006 Pride Fighting Championship open weight grand prix winner Cro COp when he landed a knee in the 3rd round of his own headlined fight in Indiana at Conseco Fieldhouse. Filipovic (cro cop's real name) lost with only 58 secs. left to go.

After the fight Frank quoted "It looked kind of ugly to be honest," "but I guess it's better to pull of an ugly win than an ugly loss."

The 2 of them traded punches in the octagon most of the fight and the crowd booed in disappointment but than the big knee heard round the world and a few follow up punches finished off Cro Cop on the ground, as referee Herb Dean moved in to end the fight.

The defeat snapped a 2mfight winning streak for Filipovic, whose participation in the main event was put in jeopardy by an eye injury suffered during training. Once 1 of the worlds most feared heavyweights, the 36 year old now stands @ a mediocre 4-4 inside Dana Whites league.

"My strategy was to take him down, but his takedown defense is good," Frank never took down Cro in the fight but also said "I was trying to do well. Mirko's dangerous."

Rayan Bader Beats Nogueira

In the co-main event, undefeated "The Ultimate Fighter" Season 8 winner Ryan Bader scored with takedowns in all three rounds and notched a unanimous decision against world-ranked Pride Fighting Championships veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. All three judges sided with Bader by matching 30-27 counts.

"I didn't want to engage too much," Bader said. "The good thing about being a wrestler is keeping them guessing and dictating where the fight goes."

Bader zoomed out to a quick lead as he took down Nogueira with a little less than three minutes remaining in the first round and belted him with heavy ground-and-pound. Two standing-to-ground punches bounced Nogueira off the canvas. A three-time Pac-10 Conference champion and two-time All-American wrestler at Arizona State, Bader used his considerable wrestling chops to neutralize Nogueira's technical boxing advantage for long stretches in the fight.

Still, Nogueira had his moments. A knee to the body took the steam out of Bader in Round 2, and he scored successfully on his feet throughout the third. However, Bader delivered two more takedowns in Round 3, moved to 5-0 inside the Octagon and set up a potential showdown with light heavyweight wunderkind Jon Jones. The defeat snapped Nogueira's seven-fight winning streak.

Lytle avenges Serra defeat

In a showdown that took place entirely on the feet, Chris Lytle outboxed and outclassed Matt Serra en route to a unanimous decision, avenging his 2006 defeat to the former UFC welterweight champion. All three judges scored it 30-27.

"He went for it the whole time," said Lytle, who evened his record at 9-9 inside the Octagon. "I can definitely respect the guy."

The two stood and traded for the duration and neither threw a kick until Serra fired one at the legs with 17 seconds remaining in the second round. By then, he had taken a beating, as Lytle scored with heavy power punches, the right uppercut chief among them. He had Serra in trouble on more than one occasion but could not finish the notoriously tough East Meadow, N.Y., native.

"I wanted to do or die," said Serra, who left the cage with cuts and abrasions near his left eye. "I knew if I stopped him it would say something. It wasn't my night. Chris is a stud. He deserves all the success."

Sherk edges Dunham in controversial decision

Former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk, in his first appearance in more than a year, took a controversial split decision from world ranked and previously unbeaten Evan Dunham. All three judges scored it 29-28, two of them for Sherk.

Sherk looked like his old self in the first round, as he worked through a pair of tight guillotine choke attempts, took down Dunham and opened a wicked lateral gash near his right eye with an elbow from half guard. Bleeding profusely, Dunham survived Round 1 and switched gears as the battle deepened.

"The chokes were very tight," Sherk said. "I've got a big neck, fortunately. I'm very hard to choke."

Dunham answered in the second and third rounds, as he managed to stay upright. He wobbled the former titleholder with a head kick less than 20 seconds into Round 3, rose immediately after a Sherk takedown and scored with powerful striking combinations: knees, punches and kicks. By the end of the fight, the tide had clearly turned, but Sherk walked away with a decision.

"I thought it could go either way, to be honest with you," said Sherk, a 37-year-old Minnesota Martial Arts Academy product who improved to 7-4 inside the Octagon.

Dunham tasted defeat for the first time in 12 professional appearances, though the crowd, vocal with its displeasure, believed he deserved a better fate.

"It is what it is," Dunham said. "You never can tell what the judges are thinking. I do want to win -- always -- but I was just having fun."

Guillard takes split decision

Overwhelming speed trumped power as Melvin Guillard defeated Jeremy Stephens by split decision in a featured lightweight matchup. Two of the three cage-side judges sided with Guillard by 29-28 and 30-27 counts. A third dissented, scoring it 29-28 for Stephens.

Stephens planted an off-balance Guillard on his backside with a counter right hand during their opening exchange but spent much of the remainder of the fight swinging and kicking at air. Guillard fought a smart tactical match, as he bounced in and out of the pocket, scored effectively with punching combinations and kept Stephens at bay with a steady diet of front kicks to the body and stiff jabs to the face.

Visibly frustrated, Stephens made a run at it late, as the 24-year-old Des Moines, Iowa, native attacked Guillard with kicks to the legs and punches to the body. Though Guillard's third-round output was limited to a few exchanges and a nice jumping knee to the head, he had done enough to swing the fight in his favor.

Frank Mir not one to be intimidated is coming off an embarrassing first round loss to Shane Carwin but had an impressive win over Cheick Kongo. He’s an enigma; he’ll look fantastic as in his victory over Kongo and dismantling of Antonio “Big Nog” Nogueira but then get bullied by bigger stronger fighters like his losses to Lesnar and Carwin. His ju-jitsu skills are some of the best in the heavyweight division but he’s prone to letdown fights. Mir is a solid favorite but as long as Cro-Cop is healthy and brings a strong stand up game could send Mir to the Hospital or the Graveyard (Cro-Cop TKO 3rd).

Ryan Bader comes into this fight as the undefeated favorite. His victories have come over progressively tougher opponents although, after seeing the fall Keith Jardine has taken after his loss to Bader, he isn’t a good measuring stick.

Being a Nogueira, you know his BJJ is excellent, but he’s also an excellent boxer who won a gold medal for Brazil in the 2006 South American games. That will be the difference in his fight. UFC 118 Preview

A great month of MMA action closes out on Saturday night with UFC 118 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The feature bout is a lightweight title rematch as Frankie Edgar faces B.J. Penn. The co-feature has Hall of Famer Randy Couture battling former boxing great James Toney.

There are five bouts on the main card with the bout between Edgar and Penn getting top billing. Edgar shocked Penn in UFC 112 but he doesn’t get much time to enjoy his title as he has a quick rematch against Penn on Saturday night. Penn is a 3-1 favorite to regain his title. Not many people believe that Edgar can pull off a second straight upset. Edgar proved in the first fight he has a speed advantage against Penn but there is no question that Penn has more power. One thing that won’t happen in this bout is Penn underestimating Edgar. He will be extremely focused to prove that his loss last time was a fluke.

Randy Couture is a 7-1 favorite to destroy James Toney in the co-feature bout in UFC 118 betting. Serious UFC experts don’t believe that Toney has any chance to win vs. Couture. Toney can hit but most people don’t believe he will be on his feet long enough for it to matter. Couture has a huge edge in experience and in training. Unless Couture makes a monumental mistake this fight should be over quickly in the favor of Couture.

The real co-feature should have been Kenny Florian against Gray Maynard. This might be the best matchup on the card. The winner of this bout will likely get a title shot vs. the winner of the Edgar-Penn fight. Florian is a -150 favorite in this UFC betting . Florian has the edge in striking in this bout and he may be able to land enough punches to win. Florian could also catch Maynard with a hold and win the fight by submission. Also on the main card it is Nate Diaz a 2-1 favorite vs. Marcus Davis and Demian Maia a 2-1 favorite vs. Mario Miranda.

The preliminary card has five bouts, two of which are on Spike TV. Those two are Andre Winner vs. Nik Lentz and Joe Lauzon vs. Gabe Ruediger. The other three bouts on the preliminary card have Nick Osipczak vs. Greg Soto, Alessio Sakara vs. Gerald Harris, John Salter vs. Dan Miller and Amilcar Alves vs. Mike Pierce.

A very good card of fights is on tap for Saturday night in Oakland, California for UFC 117 led by middleweight champion Anderson Silva defending his title against Chael Sonnen. Silva is more than a 4-1 favorite in UFC odds at SBG Global.

Silva is considered one of the best fighters in the UFC but in recent bouts he has not been very impressive and has drawn the wrath of UFC president Dana White. Silva should have no trouble getting motivated for this fight with White on his case and with Sonnen running his mouth. This will be Silva’s record seventh defense of his middleweight title. Sonnen has ripped into Silva in recent weeks criticizing his style, his record and even calling him a “dummy.” When Silva is motivated he is one of the best fighters that the UFC has ever seen and he should be highly motivated on Saturday night. Silva has won 12 straight fights and looks to be in a different class than Sonnen both in the ring and out of the ring.

The main card in UFC 117 odds also includes what should be an excellent fight between Thiago Alves and Jon Fitch. The two are a notch below Georges St. Pierre but then again so is every other fighter. Alves is -130 in this bout against Fitch.

Also on the main card it is Junior Dos Santos trying to take his UFC record to 6-0 as he faces Roy Nelson. This bout should be exciting for as long as it lasts with each fighter throwing big punches. Nelson may not want to trade punches with Dos Santos. Nelson has strong wrestling skills but he has been talking about mixing it up with Dos Santos and that would be a mistake. All but one of Dos Santo’s career fights have ended in the first round. The winner of this bout could get a title shot against Brock Lesnar or Cain Velasquez. Dos Santos is more than a 3-1 favorite vs. Nelson.

Also on the main card it will be Matt Hughes facing Ricardo Almeida and Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Clay Guida. The UFC odds favor Almeida who has won four of his last five bouts while the bout between Dos Anjos and Guida is basically a pick.

The preliminary card at UFC 117 has Rick Story vs. Dustin Hazelett, Phil Davis vs. Rodney Wallace, Todd Brown vs. Tim Boetsch, Johny Hendricks vs. Charlie Brenneman, Christian Morecraft vs. Stefan Struve and Ben Saunders vs. Dennis Hallman.

UFC/MMA Update - Rumors Swirl Regarding Fedor’s Next Opponent and UFC Odds Already Up on Lesnar vs. Velasquez

The rumors continue to swirl regarding who Fedor Emelianenko, arguably the greatest fighter in MMA history who was upset by Fabricio Werdum in his last bout, will fight next.

Strikeforce is going to sit down with co-promotional partner M-1 Global very soon, possibly this weekend to discuss the final event on their existing contract. That final fight could be Fedor in a rematch with Werdum, Werdum has said he would agree to it, or Fedor against Antonio “Big Foot” Silva, Sergei Kharitinov, or Alistair Overeem.

Without a doubt, the biggest event moneymaker for both promotional companies would be a fight between Fedor and Overeen. Overeen absolutely demolished Brett Rogers in his last fight. That’s the one that I will be looking forward to.

I don’t believe Silva or Kharitinov have much of a shot against Fedor unless, of course, Fedor’s loss to Werdum was a true example of diminished skills and not the case of a great fighter having a bad night. Kharitinov is 16 and 4 and would get pummeled by Fedor. Silva is 14 and 2 and does have fans but Emelianenko is much more experienced.

There’s nothing wrong with avenging his loss to Werdum, but Fedor, if he truly feels he’s only got 2 maybe 3 more fights left in his career, might want go for the most bucks and that would be a bout against Alistair Overeem.

Lesnar vs. Velasquez Battle on October 23rd at UFC 121

Although it’s a few months away, buzz has already started to build regarding the Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez match on October 23rd. UFC President Dana White wasted no time putting together a match between 2 of his biggest draws.

The 8 and 0 Velasquez was last seen knocking out Minotaur Nogueira at UFC 110. The fact that he absolutely destroyed Nogueira makes him an exciting opponent for the tough Lesnar.

Lesnar, of course, took down Shane Carwin at UFC 116 earlier in July after taking a year off due to an illness. The UFC/MMA odds makers have installed Lesnar as a -175 favorite to beat Cain Velasquez who’s fighting odds are +145.

Silva and Chonen Ready to Throw Down at UFC 117

Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen are ready to throw it down at UFC 117. UFC 117 is scheduled for August 7th.

Silva, arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world is a big -450 favorite to beat down the real estate agent whose twittering led him to having to drop out of a political race.

Supposedly, Chael tweeted that Brazilian MMA manager Ed Soares, had better “pray to whatever Demon effigy you prance and dance in front of with your piglet tribe of savages that I decide not to CRUCIFY you.” I can see how a lot of voters in Oregon, where Sonnen resides, would take offense to that.

To me, it’s just appears to be, albeit stupid, in the cage trash talking and should add to what many expect to be an interesting, if one-sided, fight. The dance that Sonnen was referring to, Capoeira, has led to 26 victories for Silva.

We’ll see if Sonnen can back up his words or if the favored Anderson Silva will beat the rest of Sonnen’s idiotic tweets out of him.

With the UFC 116 card slated to get underway in a mere matter of days, let me get started.

The Breakdown: 32-year-old Ricardo Romero is, (10-1) has won five straight fights coming into his UFC debut bout against Petruzelli and is a multi-talented fighter that has recorded five wins by submission and four by KO.

Romero beat Silmar Rodrigo unmercifully in his last fight, getting his Brazilian opponent to submit (keylock) at 4:56 of the first round at Ring of Combat last November.

30-year-old Seth Petruzelli (12-4) has won four consecutive fights and has some serious KO power as he knocked out 10 opponents in his 12 career wins. Petruzelli beat Ryan White on an armbar submission at 1:07 of the first round at BAMMA 3 in May.

Analysis: I think this match is a very tough call for MMA gamblers, but in the end, I’m going to back the more experienced – and explosive – Seth Petruzelli to win this fight, though I am a bit wary of Romero and his fine record.

I think Petruzelli will try to keep this fight upright and take Romero out with his awesome striking power while fighting off Romero’s takedown and submission attempts en route to a third round KO.

The Breakdown: Since suffering consecutive losses in 2007, 30-year-old former TUF 7 contestant Gerald Harris (15-2) has won a blistering nine consecutive fights, including an impressive first round TKO destruction (strikes) against Mario Miranda at UFC Fight Night 21 in March. Harris has recorded seven of his wins by KO and six by way of submission.

Harris will take on the undefeated, but far less experienced Dave Branch (6-0) in this bout and will likely have his hands full with the Renzo Gracie-trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist.

Branch, who has a black belt in BJJ has split his six career wins evenly with three coming by way of KO and three by way of submission. Branch spanked Derrick Mehman at BFC 15, submitting (rear naked choke) his opponent at 0:26 of the second round.

Analysis: This fight is going to be a serious ‘throw-down’ mixed martial arts gamblers, but I’ve gotta back the red-hot – and more experienced Gerald Harris in this fight.

Harris has a lot more riding on the line in this bout than Branch and will be able to handle Dave Branch’s submission attempts as he is a wonderful wrestler who can hold his own on the ground with almost anyone.

I also believe Harris has more one-punch knockout ability than Branch as evidenced by his impressive four-fight KO streak (all on punches) coming into this bout and fully believe he will hand Branch his first career loss in this pairing.

It’s not going to be easy by any means, but I like Gerald Harris to win this one on a third round KO.

Fedor Emelianenko Takes On Fabricio Werdum in a Joint Strikeforce/M1 Spectacular

The Strikeforce event on June 26th is bound to be one for the books as Strikeforce mixed martial arts joins up with M-1 Global to bring some of the toughest fighters in the world together within one caged ring. This is an extra special event because it combines Strikeforce MMA with M-1 Global, which allows it to be a complete world showcase of some of the world's best fighters. This showcase has a huge title card as Fedor Emelianenko (who is actually a co-owner of M-1 Global) takes on Fabricio Werdum in a heavyweight bout that promises to entertain.

Fedor Emelianenko- also known as "The Last Emperor"- holds a record of 31-1. His only recorded loss comes from the fact that his fight with Tsuyoshi Kohsaka was stopped when Emelianenko suffered a gash in the opening seconds of the fight. Even though he has a loss to tarnish his undefeated streak, "The Last Emperor" understands that numbers don't mean anything when you're inside the cage.

Fedor has been at the top as the best heavyweight in the world for the better part of the last decade. He has taken down Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipović, Mark Coleman, and Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira on his way there. On June 26th, he goes up against Fabricio Werdum (the number 9 heavyweight in the world) for a showdown that's bound to define the two fighters and the event.

Even though Emelianenko is among the top heavyweights in the world, he will have a lot on his hands going up against the jiu-jitsu technician, Fabricio Werdum. Werdum is known as "Vai Cavalo" or "Leading Horse" which speaks to his wild and free nature in the ring. It looks like Emelianenko will be tasked with taming Werdum if he wants that victory.

Despite this exciting main card, the June 26th Strikeforce will feature much more heated action. In fact, many more people are looking forward to the top woman in the world, Cris "Cyborg" Santos taking on Jan Finney. Most feel that Cyborg will take out Finney pretty easily and glide on to an effortless victory (even more so considering that Finney's nickname is "Cuddles"), but Finney has been known to be scrappy making the fight a good one to watch.

UFC 115 Chuck Liddell vs Rich Franklin

Chuck Liddell and Rich Franklin will do battle on Saturday night in the headline bout of UFC 115 odds in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It will be the first bout for Liddell in almost 14 months and unless he wins it will likely be his last. UFC President Dana White has said that Liddell must win or his career in the UFC is probably over. Liddell is 21-7 in his career but he has lost four of his last five fights.

Franklin is a -150 favorite at online sportsbook SBG Global.

Franklin comes into this bout with a record of 27-5 but he was knocked out by Vitor Belfort in his last fight. That same result could happen against Liddell if he is not careful. The "Iceman" will look to keep this fight upright and Franklin may be willing to oblige. Liddell is said to be in great shape for this fight and with his UFC future at stake, he should be very motivated. Liddell and Franklin could decide to trade punches and Liddell would have the advantage if that happens. The other big fight on Saturday on the main card has Pat Barry going up against his idol Mirko “Cro Cop” Filopovic. Barry is the up and coming fighter while Cro Cop has seen better days. Barry is a -160 favorite at SBG.

Also on the main card it is Paulo Thiago vs. Martin Kampmann, Ben Rothwell vs. Gilbert Yvel and Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald. The bout between Thiago and Kampmann could be one of the better ones on the UFC betting card. The winner of this fight could be headed for another main event bout against Thiago Alves. Thiago is a -260 favorite at SBG. The other two main event bouts could be slugfests as Rothwell goes up against Yvel while Condit battles the undefeated MacDonald. Rothwell was destroyed last time out against Cain Velasquez while Yvel was pummeled by Junior dos Santos.

The two bouts on Spike TV on the preliminary card will be Tyson Griffin taking on Evan Dunham and Mac Danzig facing Matt Wiman. Analysis: Thiago specializes in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Judo and boxing while Kampmann is also a well-rounded fighter that specializes in Muay Thai and submission wrestling.

Both of these fighters are very talented and have huge upsides, but it is Paulo Thiago that is a bit more explosive in my estimation.

Despite having a slight lack in experience, I like Thiago to win this fight by knocking Kampmann out with a flurry of strikes much like Paul Daley did to Kampmann at UFC 103 in September of 2009.

Kampmann also fought at 185 pounds for five years before dropping to 170 pounds in 2009 and I believe his loss in weight has affected his power more than most people suspect.

Either way, I like Paulo Thiago by second round TKO in this one.

Analysis: I’m going to be very brief with my pick on this heavyweight showdown between Gilbert Yvel and Ben Rothwell by simply saying that I will be genuinely shocked if Ben Rothwell doesn’t knock Gilbert Yvel out cold in this matchup despite the fact that both fighters have lost two of their last three fights and possess nearly equal abilities in the ring.

Yvel took a dismal first round TKO (punches) loss to Junior dos Santos at UFC 108 in January while Rothwell was handed a second round TKO (punches) loss by Cain Velasquez at UFC 104 last October.

Still, I think the younger Rothwell, who is 8-2 in his last 10 fights, is an excellent selection at -150 to get back in the win column and push Gilbert Yvel one step closer to retirement.

Analysis: Last but not least, is the lightweight bout between Tyson Griffin and the undefeated Evan Dunham.

The 26-year-old Griffin brings a two-fight win streak into this bout that includes a convincing KO (punches) win over Hermes Franca at UFC 103 last September.

Griffin however, will face a fighter in Dunham that has yet to lose a fight in 10 career MMA fights. The 28-year-old may be a bit less experienced than Griffin, but he has shown far more ability to finish off his opponents than Griffin.

Dunham recorded a third round submission (armbar) win over Efrain Escudero in his last fight at UFC Fight Night 20 in January and has recorded six of his wins by submission, and two by KO.

The black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu is the clear-cut underdog here, but I believe he will not only record the upset win here, but will do it in emphatic fashion by either knocking Griffin out or likely, recording the submission win. Griffin was involved in seven straight decision fights prior to his last bout, which tells me Griffin doesn’t have the ability to finish nearly as well as Dunham.

The fighting world and especially the boxing fans will be delighted with one more spectacular fight, on May the 1st. Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley clash at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Their Welterweight Championship fight is scheduled to start some time around midnight, Eastern Standard Time, with the gala debuting at 9pm EST. Viewers from Europe will be able to follow the Mayweather vs Mosley event, Sunday morning, at about 4am for viewers based in the United Kingdom.

Floyd Mayweather fights his first battle of 2010. His opponent is not Manny Pacquiao, as everyone expected. Shane Mosley tries to become the first fighter which defeats 'Money' Mayweather. 'Pretty boy' has won all his 40 matches fought during his entire professional boxing career. He will surly try to send a reply to his arch rival, Manny Pacquiao. The Filipino has already boxed this year and defeated Joshua Clottey with style.

Various rumors stated that this is Mayweather's last fight before the most expected encounter in recent boxing history. Floyd might clash with Manny until the end of 2010 and everyone is fired up thinking as this possibility.

Shane Mosley is a 38-year-old boxer which accepted the Olympic drug testing procedure. 'Sugar' Shane accepted rigorous dropping tests in order to fight with Mayweather. We can all remember that this tests where the reason for the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight cancellation. In the meantime let's focus on Saturday's upcoming fight.
